TICO Supporting Travel Advisor Recruitment with New Video Series

As the travel industry continues its pandemic recovery, TICO is acknowledging how labour shortages continue to be a significant challenge for travel agencies and tour operators.

With new sellers enter the industry, the organization points out that it is essential that all Ontario Travel Counsellors understand their obligations under the consumer protection laws administered by TICO, starting with certification.

Videos for Aspiring Travel Advisors

Since becoming TICO-certified is the first step towards a career in travel sales in Ontario, TICO is launching a new informational video series for new hopefuls entering the industry.

The series includes four videos that speak to TICO certification, along with a strong focus on professionalism and consumer protection.

TICO says the video series is there to help Ontario's travel agencies recruit vital new talent, and that it can be part of that process.

Collaboration with Ontario’s Post-Secondary Colleges to Support New Talent Development

TICO is collaborating with Ontario’s colleges that feature a Travel & Tourism program to highlight travel sales as a potential career path for students.

This complements TICO’s existing relationship with these programs, where the organization is often called to speak to students about TICO’s role and the certification process.
