11MAR marked Carnival Cruise Line's 50th anniversary, and President Christine Duffy shared a special message on the occasion.
"It's amazing to think back to how it all began," said Duffy. "With one person, one ship, and one dream." She recalled Carnival founder Ted Arison, who began the company in 1972 to "make cruising a vacation accessible to all."
Duffy highlights the commitment of Carnival cruisers throughout its history, and thanks them for their support during the COVID-19 pandemic in particular.
"While it may be our birthday, the party is for you," Duffy said.
"On behalf of all of us at Carnival, thank you for all your support, dedication, and helping us create fun and memorable vacations for all throughout these 50 years—we couldn’t have done it without you!" added Adolfo M. Perez, Senior VP of Global Sales & Trade Marketing, in a letter to travel partners.
As part of Carnival's year-long 50th birthday festivities and its “Sailabrations” cruises, seven ships met up near Cozumel 07MAR for a joint birthday party at sea, with more meet-ups planned for the near future.
