Tourism Ireland has announced that fully vaccinated Canadian tourists who present proof of vaccination are welcome into the country without quarantine or testing as of 19JUL.
Canadian tourists who cannot present proof of vaccination will need to present a negative PCR test 72 hours before arrival in Ireland, perform testing with health officials in the country upon arrival and undergo self-quarantine.
Tourism Ireland notes that only those fully vaccinated or with proof of recovery from COVID-19 in the past 6 months will be able to avail of indoor hospitality during their stay, which will apply on 26JUL.
Before arriving into Ireland, Canadian visitors will need to complete a Passenger Locator Form. This form will be checked before departure and visitors may be asked to provide the vaccination certificate indicated on their form. Upon arrival, spot checks will be carried out on proof of vaccinations and negative RT-PCR tests as appropriate. Tourism Ireland notes that the introduction of these additional checks may cause some disruption and delays to the departure and arrival times.
From 19JUL, children between the ages of 12 and 17 must still present a negative PCR test to travel into Ireland, even with fully vaccinated or recovered adults. Children under 12 do not need to take a PCR test.

Northern Ireland is still operating a system of green, red and amber countries and travel restrictions depend on the country which the traveller is coming from. As Canada is currently listed as an “amber” country, Canadian tourists must provide a negative COVID-19 test taken three days before arrival, book post-arrival testing, complete a UK passenger locator form either on arrival, or in the 48 hours before arrival and self-isolate for 10 days.
