Saint Lucia Welcomes Back Major Canadian Airlines this Fall

Saint Lucia

Saint Lucia welcomes back major Canadian airlines this fall/winter season with new nonstop service to the island following months without air service as a result of the pandemic.

The first Canadian flight to the destination after nine months returns on 03OCT with Air Canada, and the new schedule of flights to the Caribbean nation coincides with the loosening of travel restrictions in Canada, which permits fully vaccinated international arrivals to enter the country as of 07SEP for non-essential travel.

Air Canada will resume nonstop service from YYZ to Saint Lucia (UVF) once weekly every Saturday starting 03OCT, then increasing frequency to twice weekly flights (Fri/Sun) from 31OCT. The airline's winter schedule will then include four-times weekly flights as of 25DEC (Tue/Wed/Fri/Sun).

WestJet is set to resume service from YYZ to UFV starting on 07NOV once weekly every Sunday, then increasing frequency to thee-times weekly flights (Sun/Thurs/Sat) beginning the week of 12DEC, 2021.

Sunwing is also set to resume nonstop service to from YYZ to UFV starting on 06NOV once weekly every Saturday.

To travel to Saint Lucia, Canadian visitors must obtain a negative COVID-19 PCR test within five days before departure. All visitors and returning Saint Lucia nationals must complete a Pre-Arrival registration form before departure, found on www.stlucia.org. The page features a checklist overview of mandatory requirements to ensure that visitors are not denied entry upon arrival.

Saint Lucia has implemented various health and safety measures to protect residents and visitors as part of its phased reopening plan. A non-electronic wristband was introduced for fully vaccinated travelers to allow expanded island access. Through this measure, visitors can book car rentals and dine at more restaurants, all while observing existing on-island protocols.

Unvaccinated arrivals in St. Lucia will receive a bracelet that identifies them as long-stay visitors after 14 days of quarantine on the island. Starting on Day 15, they are free to explore the island while observing standard safety protocols such as physical distancing and wearing masks in public places.

Advisors can obtain more detailed information about the latest travel protocols on St. Lucia at www.stlucia.org/covid-19.
