Cuba Replaces Paper Pax Arrival Doc with Online Pre-Arrival Process

Cuba Tourism Board Canada

Cuba has completed its transition from paper arrival documentation to an online process. The new process, called D'VIAJEROS, is now fully active as of 23JAN.

According to Cuba's government, the new online passenger information form is mandatory. It must be completed a maximum of 48 hours in advance before flight check-in and the process is free. The form is available in Spanish, English, French, Russian, Italian and German.

Travellers are required to input passport details, travel plans, COVID-19 information, and the pax' customs declaration. Upon completion online, travellers receive a QR code which must be presented in digital or printed form to airline staff prior to boarding a flight to Cuba, and again on arrival to Cuban border officials.

Since border officials will already have pax information, Cuba says the new online process will speed arrivals lineups at airports.

The online pre-arrival form follows a global trend towards the digitization of Customs and Immigration processes.

Cuban government officials say that since 15NOV, when the online documentation process began with live trials, there have been more than 4 million visits to the website www.dviajeros.mitrans.gob.cu, and more than 1,700,000 visitors have arrived with their forms.
