Canadians are invited to attend the Jardines del Rey Big Game Trolling Tournament, which is scheduled to take place in Cayo Guillermo, Cuba, from 25-30OCT.

Organized by the Cuba Tourist Board and Marinas Marlin, the IX International Sport Fishing Tournament will be held in the fishing area between Cayo Coco and Cayo Guillermo, known for its variety of fish species such as Fantail, Casteros, White Marlin, Wahoo, and Dorados.

The chosen dates were determined based on an analysis of tides and lunar patterns. The Cuba Tourist Board in Toronto's Director, Lessner Gomez, stated that this event provides an opportunity to showcase the picturesque location and offers Canadians a chance to participate in water-based activities like fishing and diving.

“This is a great opportunity to showcase this paradisiacal place, surrounded by virgin keys where Canadians can enjoy memorable experiences and take part in several water-based options like fishing and diving”, says Gomez.

The Marina Marlin Jardines del Rey, with over 20 years of experience, will provide specialized crews and well-equipped yachts ranging from 33 to 42 feet, capable of accommodating up to four simultaneous rods and lines up to 60 pounds.

Teams of one to four anglers can register for a fee of $400 USD, while boat rentals for the entire tournament (three full days and one half day) are priced at $2000 USD. The rental cost includes the crew, fishing license, fishing gear, and light refreshments.

To reserve a boat, participants must make arrangements via email before 24OCT. Confirmation of the reservation will be provided through email.

"Water adventures are endless in Cuba,” said Gomez, “and we believe this tournament can attract many Canadians looking for a blood pumping activity, it will certainly deliver a unique experience that pick up on the Hemingway’s vibe and the unmatched diversity of our country.”
