Cruise Fleet Activity Now Edging Above Pre-COVID Levels: Analysts

Shipping data analysis expert Clarksons Research revealed that cruise fleet activity is surpassing pre-COVID levels, Seatrade Cruise News reports.

Passenger occupancy averaged 98 per cent for the major operators in the first quarter 2023, up from 80 per cent in 2022. In the North America and Caribbean markets port calls have edged ahead of 2019 levels, but remain 40 per cent below in Asia with the Chinese market still largely closed. Clarksons projected cruise fleet capacity will be 20 per cent higher than pre-COVID by the start of 2025.
