The cruise comeback is on its way, as every major cruise line has announced a return to sailing after a 500-day shutdown of the industry. Holland America resumed operations on 24JUL as the Nieuw Amsterdam sailed out of Seattle en route to Alaska, and Princess Cruises followed on the Majestic Princess on 26JUL. Meanwhile, Norwegian joined on 26JUL as well aboard Norwegian Jade in Greece. Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line returned to revenue operations over the weekend as the Grand Classica left the Port of Palm Beach, Florida. Celebrity continued its comeback with Celebrity Millennium setting off for Alaska, Celebrity Xpedition resuming operations in the Galápagos Islands, and Celebrity Eclipse coming back in the Caribbean. Carnival also launched a shortened Alaska season from Seattle on 20JUL, with the debut of the Mardi Gras coming this weekend. Disney Cruise Line also announced the return of U.S. sailings on 09AUG. MSC continues to sail, and numerous small, luxury lines have also announced their restarts.
