72 Travel Organisations Take Netherlands to Court Due to “Incorrect Travel Advice”

A total of 72 travel organizations have filed a lawsuit against the Netherlands’ government citing that the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs gives inaccurate travel advice. The organizations say that vaccinated travellers from countries outside the European Union, included in the orange list, are also subject to travel warnings despite the claim that those travellers “do not pose high risk in terms of COVID-19 infection.” The organizations claim that the Dutch government’s travel advice was dated before the vaccine rollout, and that countries with high vaccination rates should be considered epidemiologically safe, and should receive yellow or green travel advice. The organizations urge for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to provide “reliable travel advice” that takes into account that the vast majority of persons in Holland are immunized.
