According to the International Air Transport Association (IATA), U.S. passenger airline employment has reached its highest level in over two decades as carriers ramp up staff to meet the surge in post-pandemic travel demand, reports CNN.
However, passengers continue to face "unacceptable delays and disruptions" this summer, and IATA is blaming it on the shortage of air traffic controllers in North America. IATA accuses the FAA and NAV Canada of "poor planning.” Outdated technology, staffing issues, and adverse weather have also contributed to recent air traffic problems.
