This year’s Aircraft Cabin Interiors Expo, which took place in Hamburg, Germany from 06-08JUN, highlighted one of the hottest new things in air travel: data collection, reports USA Today.
Most exhibitors, including Airbus and Panasonic, were either offering or developing apps for data collection. Collins Aerospace's InteliSence system, which won the Crystal Cabin Award for passenger comfort, even features at-seat sensors that track passengers’ activities, such as drink consumption.
While airlines claim that collecting passenger data can enhance the personalized flying experience, privacy experts express concerns about pax permission and data misuse.
