Another Nail in the Coffin: Nevada Considers End to Daily Room Cleaning Mandate

Las Vegas lawmakers are considering repealing a pandemic-era bill, which in part required Las Vegas and Reno resorts and hotels to clean rooms daily, says a report in USAToday.

Hotels in the United States have started to move away from providing daily housekeeping services. Instead, guests at many properties now need to request daily housekeeping under these new opt-in policies.

Two unions oppose the bill due to concerns that it could lead to layoffs in housekeeping, a workforce largely comprised of women and people of color.
