Atlantic Canada Reports Record-Breaking 2023 Cruise Season

Atlantic Canada's 2023 cruise season, reported by the Atlantic Canada Cruise Association (ACCA), surpassed expectations, underscoring the region's resilience and allure, reports Cruise Industry News.

With over 600 cruise ships and a 28% increase in port calls from 2022, 868,938 passengers explored Charlottetown, Corner Brook, Halifax, Saint John, and Sydney. Niche Ports drew in over 34,000 passengers.

Record-breaking activity at the Port of Sydney (74% increase) and Port of Corner Brook (58% increase) highlighted the season. APR-to-AUG cruise passenger visitation grew from 157,454 (2022) to 235,962 (2023). Port Saint John was a finalist for "Port of the Year." The ACCA anticipates continued growth, emphasizing cruise tourism's vital role in the Atlantic Canadian economy.
