Bedbugs Bite into Paris, Stoking Fears Ahead of the Olympics

As the Paris Olympics approach, concerns have risen about a surge in bedbug infestations across the city, reports NBC News.

The pests have been spotted on public transportation, in cinemas, and at Charles de Gaulle Airport. The government is taking these reports seriously, with the Transport Minister planning discussions with transport operators and the Deputy Mayor urging the Prime Minister to take action.

Some believe the infestation and other challenges like protests and riots suggest a turbulent lead-up to the 2024 Games.
