Following a discrimination complaint, the Berlin senate for justice, diversity and anti-discrimination has issued an edict that the same rules will apply to both men and women in the city’s swimming pools.
A woman who was prevented from swimming without a top in a public swimming pool in Germany’s capital filed a suit demanding that women, like men, be allowed to swim topless.
It isn’t known when the official new rules will come into effect, but in response to the verdict, the agency that operates Berlin’s public pools has changed its clothing regulations.
