According to the latest edition of the Global Business Travel Association's monthly global survey of travel professionals, the return of business travel is hitting some speed bumps, and companies and travellers are reconsidering hitting the road. The survey, taken between 09-19AUG, got responses from 678 travel buyers and suppliers in the U.S. and Canada, Europe and Latin America. It found that 40 per cent of companies have ceased domestic travel planned within the next three months, down from 36 per cent from the previous poll one month earlier. 18 per cent of companies have suspended crossborder trip planning as well, down from 33 per cent from last month’s survey. In addition, 31 per cent of respondents who worked for an air, hotel or ground transport company reported that bookings from corporate customers had decreased over the previous week, while just 24 per cent had seen an increase in corporate sales over that period.
