Cruise Prices are Way Up as Operators Meet Surging Travel Demand

Following the pandemic, cruises have experienced a significant resurgence, leading to a notable increase in ticket prices, reports CNBC.

Major operators, including Carnival and Royal Caribbean Cruises, are not only pricing tickets higher than pre-pandemic levels but are hinting at potential further increases. Data from Cruise Critic indicates a 37% increase in the average five-night Caribbean cruise price from last year, 43% higher than 2019. Both companies have seen record revenues, and with ongoing inflation pushing airfares up, cruises offering inclusive amenities are gaining more traction. Industry experts suggest these high prices may become the new norm, with strong demand allowing cruise lines to maintain elevated prices without significant incentives.
