Cruise Ships Will Return to Eastern Canada, but it Won't Be Business as Usual: Tourism Leaders

Tourism leaders in Saint John, the fourth-busiest port in Canada, are excited for cruising to return in 2022, but concede that there is uncertainty for the future of the industry. Andrew Dixon, senior vice-president of trade and business development with Port Saint John says that the port has scheduled 70 calls for 2022, but "the real wild card" is what limits will be placed on capacity." According to Dixon, there is also some uncertainty about vaccination requirements for passengers, and Canada’s requirements may vary depending on how the cruise industry is faring with similar issues in Europe, Asia, and more.
