Cuba is set to reopen its borders to travellers with proof of full vaccination or a recent negative COVID-19 test on 15NOV. This follows the destination’s efforts to vaccinate most of its residents with its own home-grown COVID-19 vaccine. Cuba’s vaccines are currently under review by the World Health Organization and most trial data has yet to be peer reviewed. Even still, travel suppliers are confident in Cuba’s safety. “Cuba will be one of the safest sanitary destinations and we believe that we can reach visitations similar to 2019 by the end of next year,” said Francisco Camps, supervisor for Spanish firm Sol Melia’s 32 hotels in Cuba.
