Delta, Southwest Airlines Ban TikTok for Employees

Delta Air Lines and Southwest Airlines have imposed bans on TikTok use by employees, reports TravelMole. The ban applies to company-issued devices and personal devices if they are connected to company IT systems.

Delta employees were required to delete the app by 07JUL. As a federal contractor, Southwest Airlines has implemented a similar ban, citing the need to adhere to government guidance by stating that TikTok is inaccessible via the Southwest network.

The moves come in response to the No TikTok on Government Devices Act, which prohibits federal employees from using TikTok due to concerns that the app, which is owned by the Chinese company ByteDance, may endanger sensitive user data and put it into the hands of the Chinese government.
