Walt Disney World experienced lighter crowds on the Fourth of July, with shorter wait times for rides. Despite sensational headlines claiming an empty park or a ghost town, the reality is not so sensational, reports Frommers.
Although attendance numbers have not been released, crowds have been noticeably thinner in recent weeks. The apparent decline in attendance is being attributed to a change in guest vacation patterns rather than a cultural rejection of Disney, which has been engaged in a battle with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
Travel agents point out that the record-breaking heat in JUL may have discouraged people from being outdoors. They also highlight that bookings for other times of the year remain strong, indicating ongoing interest in the park.
Further, Frommer’s reports that claims of a political boycott lack evidence, as even during previous controversies, Disney World saw high attendance.
