Dominican Republic Nearing 3 Million Tourists in 2021 - 96 Per Cent of 2019 Levels

Tourism for the Dominican Republic was strong in AUG 2021, and now the nation is approaching 3m tourist visits in 2021. So far, 2.9m travellers have come to the country this year, with 467,575 non-residents visiting in AUG. These numbers represent 96 per cent of tourists by this time in 2019, and exceeded 2020 levels by 332 per cent in the same period. Dominican Republic officials say tourism numbers in 2021 are expected to eclipse 2019 levels by the end of SEP.
