Douglas Prothero Steps Down as Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection CEO

Douglas Prothero, founder of the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, has stepped down from his current position as CEO and will be succeeded by Executive Chairman Jim Murren.

Murren joined the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection in JAN. He previously led Nevada’s COVID Response, Relief and Recovery Task Force from 2020 to 2022 following 12 years as chairman and CEO of MGM Resorts International. Murren also serves as co-chair of Cirque du Soleil.

Prothero, who founded the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection in 2013, will continue as a director on the board and become a strategic advisor to Murren.
