Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Theresa Tam says the Public Health Agency of Canada is working with its US counterparts to recognize mixed vaccine doses as a practice. If the practice is recognized, Canadians with mixed vaccinations will have eased travel restrictions, just the same as those who have had two doses of the same kind. Tam elaborated that the agency has provided data on its effectiveness to the US, EU countries, and other “top destinations for Canadians.” Tam also highlights that talks “are progressing pretty well,” but talks are ongoing as countries around the world continue to establish entry requirements. Some European countries have accepted Canadians with mixed vaccinations as they already perform the practice.
