EU Confirms Another ETIAS Delay to Spring 2025

The European Union has announced another delay in the launch of the ETIAS travel system for non-EU visitors, pushing it to spring 2025, reports Business Travel News.

This decision follows the postponement of the related Entry-Exit System (EES), which must be operational before ETIAS. The new timeline indicates EES will begin in autumn 2024, with ETIAS to follow in 2025.

Initially slated for 2021, ETIAS requires visa-waiver travellers, including those from the UK and the U.S., to obtain ETIAS authorization for visiting 30 European nations. The system will introduce a €7 fee (CAD $10.19) and replace manual passport stamping with an electronic system.
