The European Court of Justice has overturned a €6 billion (CAD$8.8 billion) bailout of Lufthansa by the German government following a complaint from Ryanair, reports Simple Flying.
The EU court ruled that the decision failed to properly assess the impact of the bailout on competition in the aviation industry. Lufthansa already repaid the loan amount back to the German government, but the court's decision could have significant implications for future state bailouts.
