European Airline Flight Cancellations in MAR Worst in the World

According to aviation data company Cirium, European flight cancellations rose in MAR 2023 by 65 per cent compared to FEB as airlines saw worker strikes affecting airport operations.

14,504 flights were cancelled in MAR compared to 8,713 in FEB, with Europe seeing the largest regional jump in a month that saw 72,900 global cancellations, reports Simple Flying. Cirium attributed the region's struggles to strikes, particularly air traffic control strikes in France that have impacted over 50 days in 2023 alone.

Cirium data also shows that cancellations are up in all regions of the world - except for North America.
