European Ski Resorts Close Because There's no Snow

Much of Europe is currently experiencing “unseasonably” warm weather conditions, meaning that ski resorts across the Alps, particularly in the lower regions, have closed due to lack of snow, reports CNN. A rep from the national body representing French ski resorts told CNN that half of the 7,500 ski slopes in France are currently closed, due to "a lack of snow and a lot of rain" blamed on climate change. Higher altitude resorts are still operating. Some resorts are switching out skiing for mountain biking and encouraging guests to enjoy the countryside during the mild winter.
