Financial Woes at Pakistan International Airlines Causing Headaches for Canadian Travellers

CBC News reports that Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is facing a financial crisis, causing concerns for Canadian travellers.

As unpaid bills accumulated, PIA reduced its operations, and the Pakistani government declined its request for a bailout. Canadians, especially during peak travel seasons, now opt for more reliable airlines, citing PIA's delays, cancellations, and poor service.

The government proposed privatizing the debt-ridden airline, with its liabilities five times its assets. Experts believe its financial recovery will be challenging in the foreseeable future.
