Flight attendants recount the challenges of accommodating oversized carry-ons, causing delays and inconvenience. Analyst Henry Harteveldt suggests shifting baggage fees, advocating for free checked bags to streamline boarding and reduce fuel costs.

The domino effect of overstuffed cabins results in higher expenses for airlines, potentially leading to increased ticket prices. Some discount airlines, like Southwest and Spirit, already employ alternative fee structures. Baggage delivery guarantees might also encourage passengers to check their bags.
