France Wants End to $10 European Fares as Environmental Crisis Looms

This move follows France's other green initiatives, including an investment in train infrastructure funded by increased airline taxes, the reintroduction of the night train from Paris to Berlin, and a ban on short-haul flights when train routes under 2.5 hours are available.

Additionally, there's consideration of a flat-rate monthly public transport pass and increased taxes on private jets. While the EU is slow to enact new rules, it has shown support for environmentally-focused measures.
