A week after the White House announced that it planned to reopen its border in “early NOV,” no specific date has been set. With reopening just over a month away, travellers from around the world, are seeking a specific date so they can make their travel plans. Many are taking to Twitter to ask officials for an official date. "Give us a date,'' a woman from Cologne, Germany, said in a tweet on 278SEP calling out President Joe Biden, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki and the White House. According to spokesperson Scott Pauley, the CDC expects to have an order requiring airlines to collect passenger information for COVID-19 contact tracing by mid-OCT. Travellers are speculating and searching for any sign of a reopening date, and one blogger shared a screenshot of an online conversation with United Airlines which said that the U.S. plans to "lift geographic travel ban restrictions'' beginning 01NOV. A United spokesperson said that there is no specific timing besides the government’s announcement of early NOV. However, Austria's ambassador to the United States told a traveller who reached out via Twitter that the target date is 01NOV. The White House has still yet to confirm a date.
