Global Cities That are Canceling their New Year's Eve Events - and Those Still Going Forward

With rising COVID-19 case numbers and the introduction of the new Omicron variant, some cities and nations around the world have announced they are cancelling their large New Year’s eve events. At the time of reporting, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio is still considering NYE celebrations at Times Square and will answer by Christmas. For now, celebrations are still scheduled. Berlin, London, Paris, and Rome, among others, have cancelled celebrations while other destinations such as Bangkok, Dubai, and Las Vegas events are going forward.
