Grand Bahama Shipyard Ltd., jointly owned by Carnival Corp. and Royal Caribbean Group, is planning a USD $600 million "transformation" project, including two floating drydocks.
The floating drydocks, expected to be delivered in 2025 and 2026, are under construction at CSSC Qingdao Beihai Shipbuilding Co. in China.
Grand Bahama Shipyard says the floating docks will be the largest in the Western Hemisphere and include a mega port capable of servicing all existing and currently planned cruise ships.
Infrastructure construction is set to begin in the last quarter of 2023 and be complete in 2025.
