Hawaii Gov. David Ige said that the state is extending its emergency orders over concerns of high COVID-19 numbers in the destination. According to Gov. Ige, the regulations will last 60 days from 01OCT, and will mean that masks are required in indoor public spaces, and that travellers must show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of arrival in order to avoid a 10-day quarantine. The governor said he is concerned with the seven-day average of cases that exceeds 300, but notes that it is down from late AUG 2021 when that number approached 900.
