Hertz Buys 100,000 Electric Rental Cars from Tesla; Boosts Tesla Value to over $1 Trillion

Tesla surpassed $1 trillion in market value on 25OCT after it received its largest order ever by rental car company Hertz, of 100,000 electric cars. "Electric vehicles are now mainstream, and we've only just begun to see rising global demand and interest," said Hertz interim Chief Executive Officer Mark Fields. The order, due to be delivered by 2022, is expected by Hertz to be a competitive advantage. Fields declined to say how much Hertz was paying for the order.
