It’s safe to travel during the holiday season despite Omicron and Delta, provided travellers are fully vaccinated and very cautious, said epidemiologist Nazeem Muhajarine. He recommended that all travellers, as well as guests and hosts, be fully vaccinated and get their booster shots as soon as possible. In addition, travellers should wear a mask when travelling and when around anyone with an unknown vaccination status. Muhajarine also recommended that anyone travelling should use rapid antigen tests before they leave and after they arrive, as he said it is still fine to travel so long as one takes proper precautions to ensure “that you are not bringing any unwelcome guests, like Omicron” with you.
