Hotel Booking Flexibility Replaces Price as Top Priority

In a new report from hotel technology specialist SiteMinder, Dynamic Traveller: A New Era of Hotel Guest, travellers now have higher expectations of their accommodation. In the report, 52 per cent of respondents say elements such as flexibility, value for money and security, are having the greatest impact on booking behavior. SiteMinder’s research says of the 14 factors that are likely to influence booking, free cancellations and amendments are the top priorities for almost a third of travellers. Price, considered the top factor to influence behavior in the past, comes next with 27 per cent of travellers considering it to be the key factor. In addition, having breakfast included and health and safety practices rank about equal when it comes to what influences bookings.
