Hotels Are Requiring Proof Of Vaccination In These Popular Destinations

As the Delta variant of COVID-19 is on the rise, many hotels in popular destinations are now mandating that hotel guests show proof of vaccination status. Beginning 02AUG, hotel guests in the beach resort town of Mazatlán, Mexico will need to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test. Earlier in JUL, hotels in Portugal began requiring the same of guests, and proof of vaccination or a negative test is now also required from Friday to Sunday across the country in 60 municipalities, including Lisbon and Porto. As the next wave of the pandemic sweeps across the U.S., there is a potential for American hotels to start issuing vaccination mandates of their own. At least one hotel in Massachusetts, where COVID-19 cases spiked in JUL, is now checking guests’ vaccination status before entry.
