Hurtigruten Expeditions announced that it will be returning to Antarctica aboard two battery-hybrid powered ships, Roald Amundsen and the Fram. Both ships will be departing from Punta Arenas, Chile, a change from Fram’s previously determined departure point of Ushuaia, Argentina. The new Fridtjof Nansen, which was originally planned for Antarctica as well, will instead be offering expedition cruises to the coast of Norway from Hamburg due to travel restrictions. According to the cruise line, affected guests and travel professionals will be contacted with rebooking options.
