Icelandic authorities have issued a warning to tourists and other spectators to stay away from the volcano near the capital of Rekjavik, which began erupting again 10JUL, reports CP24.
Although the eruption is near KEF, the airport remains open. As Open Jaw reported on 11JUL, there's no cause for concern for air travellers at this time.
Officials have cautioned that gas pollution is the main danger, and advised travellers to avoid the area. The most disruptive eruption in recent times was the 2010 Eyjafjallajokull eruption, which caused widespread airspace closures and European and transatlantic flight cancellations.
