In Remote Work Era, Hotel Operators Make a Bet on Longer Stays

With the shift to remote work, longer stays, and cost-conscious travellers, the extended-stay hotel segment is experiencing significant growth, reports the New York Times.

Business travellers find extended-stay lodging appealing due to larger rooms that can serve both work and relaxation needs. These hotels also benefit from reduced housekeeping costs and fewer front desk employees, making them more cost effective to build and operate compared to traditional full-service hotels.

Major hotel chains, such as Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott, Best Western, and Wyndham, have introduced or expanded their extended-stay brands.
