Industry Will Need Even More Pilots Over Next 20 Years Than Previously Expected: Boeing

A recent report from Boeing reveals an even higher demand for pilots in the global aviation industry than had previously been calculated. The 2023 Pilot and Technician Outlook predicts a need for 649,000 new pilots over the next 20 years, compared to last year's estimate of 602,000, reports FlightGlobal.

This surge in demand is attributed to the rebound in domestic air travel and near pre-pandemic levels of international traffic. China, Eurasia, and North America will account for about 20 per cent of the required pilots, with the Middle East and Southeast Asia also showing significant demand.

Additionally, the report indicates a need for 690,000 aircraft technicians globally and 938,000 cabin crew members over the same period.
