The Juneau Economic Development Council (JEDC) is analyzing the impacts of the proposed amendments to the City and Borough of Juneau Charter that aim to reign in cruise ship visits. JEDC Executive Director Brian Holst said that the impacts are bad for the city, as the community has made incredible investments to make Juneau an attractive place for visitors including cruise ship passengers. If the proposals are adopted, Holst said the next question is going to be how to develop Juneau's economy beyond cruise tourism.
