Lindblad Takes Delivery of National Geographic Resolution

Lindblad Expeditions took the delivery of the National Geographic Resolution from Ulstein Verft on 30SEP, marking the completion of the cruise line’s second polar newbuild. Following the handover ceremony in Ulsteinvik, Norway, the ship is set for its inaugural polar voyage on 17NOV to Antarctica, South Georgia and the Falklands. National Geographic Resolution, a 126-guest vessel, was designed with Ulstein’s X-BOW solution, which is intended to provide increased fuel efficiency while improving guest comfort in rough seas, The ship is also PC5 ice class for access deep into polar regions, with expanded fuel and water tanks for extended operations in remote areas, as well as zero-speed stabilizers help to ensure stability for wildlife observation or embarking/disembarking.
