Lindblad's National Geographic Resolution Named in Antarctica by Line’s 1st Female Captain

Lindblad Expeditions has celebrated the naming of National Geographic Resolution in Antarctica, which was parked on fast ice in the Weddell Sea’s Duse Bay. The ship’s passengers walked on the ice to cheer on Capt. Heidi Norling, Lindblad's first woman captain, as she christened the vessel, saying: “I wish this ship calm winds, fair seas and great adventures. May everyone who sails with her be blessed.” The 126-passenger National Geographic Resolution is Lindblad's second polar newbuild, and the second ship to be named in Antarctica following Hurtigruten's Roald Amundsen in NOV 2019. It is the first to be named on fast ice in Antarctica.
