Mauritius Reaches “Herd Immunity,” Eases Restrictions

The Republic of Mauritius has reached its targeted vaccination rate for herd immunity on 30AUG 2021, and is easing restrictions for international visitors as a result. Upon reaching the threshold, calculated to be 60 per cent of the island’s population, will see international visitors required to quarantine at a 'resort bubble' hotel for seven days instead of the previous 14. On 01OCT, Mauritius will relax restrictions even further to allow visitors to explore the island without restrictions upon arrival so long as they submit a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours before they land. Guests staying at resort bubble hotels can enjoy all leisure facilities available on the resort premises including swimming pools, restaurants, bars and gyms.
