After 16 months without cruise ship arrivals, Mexico’s Puerto Progreso in the Yucatan region welcomed Carnival Breeze on 26JUL. The ship sailed from Port Galveston with 2,825 passengers and 1,367 crew members on board and were greeted by the port’s “Friends of Health,” to reinforce safety protocols and distribute hand sanitizer and face masks as necessary. Once there, guests were able to take “bubble” shore excursions. Non-vaccinated guests took limited tours of markets and shopping areas around the world, while fully-vaccinated passengers took tours in small groups to more open areas.
