Miami-Dade County, Florida Power & Light and six cruise groups representing numerous lines signed on to a joint initiative to bring shore power to PortMiami. Carnival Corp., Disney Cruise Line, MSC Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, Royal Caribbean Group and Virgin Voyages endorsed the plan. The parties agreed to form a working group and noted that while this may represent a significant financial investment by all involved, shore power is the right investment for PortMiami.
