Winter storm warnings and advisories affected various regions, with Kansas experiencing up to a foot of snow. Hazardous conditions prompted warnings from the National Weather Service, urging caution on snow-packed and icy roads. As millions returned home from the holiday, the storm challenged the 55.4 million estimated Thanksgiving travellers.
AAA noted a 2.3% increase in travel compared to the previous year, marking the third-highest Thanksgiving forecast since 2000. Amid busy airport security checkpoints, FlightAware reported minimal disruptions.
